full header color layout

I am trying to get a solid color on the header and had made some changes to the layout. It kind of works but have not managed to remove the margin to make it work well. Is there any way to get rid of the margins on the header? And also what are css elements essential for an optimum disply on mobile devices? So far the changes I made affect the mobile options and I don’t know other way around this.
