Change background of parent when hovering sub menu link

Hi,

I am trying different ways to change the background color of the parent link when I hover the sub menu link. I want it to have the same color as the “hover” color, not as now, the black, “original” color (I have modified the dark style menu) to fit my needs.

How can this be achieved?
