Today I tried to change some colors of my site, but it was a surprise to see that if I change the colors via Apparence > Customize > Colors (or Main Menu Styles – Custom menu 1 and Custom menu 2), and I publish the changes are not saved :-(

Yes, I clean the cache, but I’m not able to change the colors of Custom Menu 1 and 2.
I can switch to Dark Menu or Light Menu, but not change colors of custom menu…

The reason is simple – you are overriding the default header.php in your Child theme and in it the CSS that gets added for your custom menu color is commented out, it’s this code from the original header.php:


	// Custom Menu BGR color
	if( (($nav_bgr_color=get_theme_mod('nav_bgr_color'))!="#0ad1e5") && ((get_theme_mod('main_menu_style') == 'custom_menu')||(get_theme_mod('main_menu_style') == 'custom_menu2'))){

			background-color: ".$nav_bgr_color.";
		}
		.custom_menu2 #menu > ul > li > a:hover, .custom_menu2 #menu > ul > li:hover > a, .custom_menu2 #menu > ul > li ul > li > a:hover > span {
			background-color: ".$nav_bgr_color.";
		}\n";
	}

Instead of creating further mess you can simply add this CSS to your Theme options:


.custom_menu #menu, .custom_menu #menu > ul > li > a {
	background-color: #048391;
}
.custom_menu2 #menu > ul > li > a:hover, .custom_menu2 #menu > ul > li:hover > a, .custom_menu2 #menu > ul > li ul > li > a:hover > span {
	background-color: #048391;
}

it will achieve just the same. :)
