we are new in the whole wordpress topic and want to customize the revolution slider height in the template, so that the slider just needs half the height of the full HD resolution…about 500px. Where can we change the height for that?

Sure, you can edit your Slider’s properties (its height in that matter) in your Slider Settings. Under Slide Layout (4) you will see you can switch the Layout mode from Full screen to Auto. Once under Auto you can manage the sizes with explicit PX values. :)
