Hi,

I want to change the layout of some, probably all, of the category pages on my website.

At the moment there is a sidebar, and the main content shows post image, post title, posting details, full post, repeated for all posts in the category.

An example of a current category can be found here: http://www.greatinns.co.uk/category/latestoffers

Ideally I would like to:

- Remove the side bar, making the content full page width
- Divide the content area in to 3 columns
- Display the post image, post title, posting date, post excerpt and a read more button

An idea of the kind of layout I am looking for can be found here: http://www.greatinns.co.uk/je-test-page
Password: J@me$Rul3$

(sad/childish password I know!)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

James

Hi again James,

So you want to change the index.php is what it looks like.
I would use a child theme then override my main index.php template there.
You can then structure your new layout anyway you please there. Make sure you go through the current index.php to see how elements are generated (featured image, title, excerpt etc) so you can reuse those in the new layout.
