Hey there,

I have followed the instructions for the demo content import, and after a while it just does nothing and has the title “Import WordPress” on top of a blank page. I looked at your troubleshooting instructions and I have the minimum requirements for it to work. You can look at my phpinfo here:

staging.philanthropica.ca/ppinfo.php

Could you please assist me?

Hi there,

Sure, I’d love to help!
Is this a shared hosting or your own server? Sometimes shared hostings have limitation at a lower level than what you see in your php.ini (mine does! :))
If you get a blank page first thing you would want to do is enable DEBUG mode from your wp-config file and see what error you are actually getting.
Let’s go from there..

hi mr. owl

Good call, forgot to activate debug mode. Here is the error I am getting. This is a fresh install with no other plugins:

Hi again,

Hmm, this is not an error, just a notice, this wouldn’t break your import…
Are you using a shared hosting? If yes, would you ask their support if they might limit your server at a lower level than your php.ini (they usually do).

I have the same problem.
I turned on the DEBUG modus

First of all I installed everything new, but I see already error messages, is that normal? haha

I contacted already the hosting company and they told me I have a limit of 100M , do you think thats the problem or another?

Thank you!

(P.S.: I removed parts of the link structure due to safety reasons)

Hi there,

First off remove whatever memory limits you have in your wp-config.php (WP_MEMORY_LIMIT).
Setting it internally won’t change the limits that your hosting company has.
I would ask them to increase those for the sake of importing your demo, then they can put them back.
Make sure you also switch off your Warnings and Notices, not sure if you have this set in your wp-config file or somewhere else…

Hey,

it doesn’t look that it is possible to increase is it just for the demo import and I am not willing to upgrade my hosting package just for the import (way too expensive)

Also how can I be sure that the limit is the problem as I don’t get an error about it?!

Is there another way to import the demo data?

Also why are there so many error messages when I turned the debug mode on?
Will you fix them soon in an update?

Hi,

First off, you would only temporarily ask your hosting to increase your limits so you can import the Demo, it’s a regular task that they should do for you.
The notices you have listed are not errors, only warnings and notices, you should have those turned off on a running website.
Most of them are not a part of the theme but due to plugins and you shouldn’t really worry about those.
You could surely import the Demo on your localhost since you have full control there and then upload it via Duplicator plugin to your production site.

Hi there,

It works, you only need to increase your server resources as stated in the documentation.
Make sure you increase them as described here in the bottom:
