You could customize it in 3 columns but you would get a mess on a phone… :)

Basically you can set the columns in the footer to keep their default state instead of getting a 100% width in responsive. Try adding this to your Custom CSS either in Theme options of your child theme:

#footer .span_1_of_3 {
    width: 31.33% !important;
    margin: 0 0 30px 2% !important;
