There appears to be an issue with the sub-menu items not dropping down on a click event for the completely useless iPad (IMHO) but we have customers using them. I did a Google search on this topic and everyone seems to have an opinion/code to solve the problem. I tried this suggestion but it didn’t solve the problem either.

#navigation .sub-menu {
    display: none;
}

#navigation .menu-item-has-children:hover > .sub-menu {
    display: block;
}

Website: http://sloworkforce.com

Should I be using the Custom Links menu feature and then the following href for all main menu items that have sub-menu items? Help!

<a href="#">About</a>.

Hi there,

The ipad should activate the mobile menu that operates in a different way… what am I missing here? (Try the device mode (ipad) under Chrome)

I will check out the device mode in Chrome. I don’t use iPad’s nor most Apple devices (with the exception of an iPhone) so this menu dropdown issue is a new one to me. Certainly, someone else has already been here/done that.

In Chrome (ipad mode), it works fine using the mouse and it’s likely triggering a mouseover event not a click event. But on the ipad using touch (no such thing as a mouse or track pad), it brings up a dialog window of “Open, Open in New Tab, Add to Reading List and Copy). I have looked over all Safari options and iPad options – nothing that would block the drop of menu items.

Ok, I figured it out. iPad’s work by touch (click events) and not mouseover events. Consequently, each main menu item needs to be a WP Custom Link followed by # after the URL. This change does not affect the navigation functionality of the menu items.
