There are some pre-defined templates, but they are not what we are looking for. We need a page without header and footer being loaded. Normally you can create a template in the theme folder and Worpress will pick this up. But that doesn’t work. Is it possible to get this done and what would be the best way?

You can follow the pattern we used for our CONTACT and PORTFOLIO page templates, find them in our theme directory, you have an option to select them when adding a new page in the right sidebar. :)
