For some reason, I am getting huge large spaces between my elements.

I have verified my setting in VC that there isn’t extra spacing?

Visual composer adds a default 35px bottom margin to all Rows that don’t have explicitly set bottom margin, so if you need to get rid of it, simply set the bottom margin to 0 explicitly.

They are changing this in version 4.9 so the upcoming theme versions will comply with it.
