Hi There,

I’m trying to move the site to a live domain with the plugin Duplicator, but not everything is moving. I’ve done this with multiple theme’s and never had any problems. I’ve also tried to change to an other hosting but that didn’t work either. When im moving locally between my two computers there are no problems. I’ve tried to export and import theme settings, and that is working well. But when im trying to edit the home page it says there are no VC elements, while you can see it live on the site.

So there has to be a problem with this theme. You can check it at http://www.jaimyvanderlee.nl
As you see the logo and all the theme settings are not copying. Also some weird characters are showing up.

Do you know what this problem can be?

I Can give you admin details, but don’t know how to do this secretly.

Thanks in advance.

I also use Dublicator a lot, and no issue there with Fortuna.

Yours is not a theme problem, looks like your DB encodings are different!
Check that some of your characters are messed up too. Make sure you use the same DB collations along the installations.

Thanks for your reply!

Mmm.. strange, tried to play around with the databases settings but no succes.

Which database set do you recommend me to use? I might rebuild the site in a different database if necessary.

Just make sure the collation of the new DB where you will be importing is the same as in your prev. installation.

I’ve stumbled with that before too, it’s an easy fix really.

Here’s more on the issue:

http://theblogpress.com/blog/seeing-weird-characters-on-blog-how-to-fix-wordpress-character-encoding-latin1-to-utf8/

I wouldn’t play with the settings in wp-config though, rather set the DB correctly at creation.

Thanks a lot! My server, WordPress site and my localhost where all at UTF8 unicode. But still it still didn’t work.

I ended up rebuilding the site with a DB created on my test server and now everything works fine Also some weird stuff seems to be fixed like CSS animation headers random not showing up.
