Hi there, in my news blog I have a listing of items which you can click the title of to go to the full page. By default, the theme adds a ‘Read more’ button when there is more text to the blog post than fits in the component. However, it does not do this when there are photos in the main post. For example, take a look at this page:

https://goddards-landscape.co.uk/news/page/3/

The first post does not have ‘Read more’ like some of the ones further down the page, however I do want the button there because there are more images inside the post itself. This happens with most of the posts I have images inside.

Suggestions?

It’s not because of the images, it’s rather that it shows the whole post, I think if your post content is longer it will be fine…

Thanks, but some of my post content (wording) is not longer, however I still want the user to see the button because there is more (photos) inside. I.E. I want the ‘read more’ button to appear when there are photos in the blog post (because it is more than what is written at the top level)

I’m not using a child theme, is there a way to do it through the WordPress dashboard? Thanks

Well, you can add the code to your functions.php but it’s not advisable as you can break your website and your admin if you get an error…
Use FTP just in case so that if you break something you can easily revert.
