I’ve used Terra for the past 2-1/2 years for one site and it has been truly awesome. For some strange reason, in the past couple of weeks a number of elements on certain pages are simply not visible. Pictures and text that used to appear are not showing. I’m at a loss to understand why. I’ve updated the theme to the latest version and it didn’t solve the problem.

The “About” page was not showing at all. With the exception of the header it was completely blank. When I removed the “[container row]” elements most of the text did start to appear, but most of the photos are not showing up even though they do exist and can be viewed with an independent URL. I’ve even re-uploaded the images in question and it didn’t resolve the problem.

Most other pages are working fine, but on some of them certain elements are not displaying, leaving empty holes where those elements should go. I’m baffled. Any idea what’s causing these issues?

Visit http://www.tsawwassenplacedental.ca and look at the About and Services pages to see this strange behavior.

I noticed that the shortcodes are no longer showing as being available to insert in the editing field. I wonder if that’s somehow related. But I updated the theme and it should have resolved any such issue if one existed.

Hi there!

Long time!
Please check your JS console, you have some dead URLs pointing to some Image resources.
I am assuming if you had the animating elements to ON the animation got broke by the error about not finding the images… Then your resources couldn’t animate in!

Although this is not related to the above issues we are preparing an update for the theme that will be compatible with the latest WP … Have you updated WordPress to the latest version? If you have you may be missing a few of the shortcode icons…

The images are not dead URLs. That’s what is so weird. If you take each URL and paste it from the source code into the browser address bar, the image comes up. But it shows as a broken image icon in the published page or leaves a hole. And I turned off the elements animation which supposedly should no longer cause an issue with loading the rest of the code.

I did update WordPress to the latest version, but these problems were already apparent before that. I thought the update would help and it didn’t.

Hi again,

The fact is that you had browser 404 errors, which means the browser couldn’t load the resources, maybe it was user rights or some other htaccess limitation or whatever, it doesn’t matter.

I see you removed them, do the animations work now?

All the page elements have now stopped working whenever animations are turned on. Previously this only affected a couple of pages but it is now site-wide. Really odd.

Hi again,

Do you still have JS errors on your page? This would be the only reason, like I explained before, JS errors break the routine that animates the elements in the page…
