From the porfolio page I can select one category to view but I was wondering if there was a way to have a page link that takes you to the porfolio with that single category view.

For example, our first project category is “Commercial”. Is there a way to create a link that takes me directly to what I would see when I select Commercial from the porfolio page?

Sure, here’s an example:

http://stewart-construction.com/portfolio_category/healthcare/

You can view the URL to a specific category when on a single Portfolio Item and by clicking on the breadcrumbs – all categories this item falls into are displayed in the breadcrumbs (links above the title). You could create menu items with that link if you feel like as well.
