I created a couple test portfolio items and set my featured image on each and created portfolio categories.
Then I added a Portfolio Grid to a new page. I see the portfolios and my filter tabs by category no problem.
What I can’t figure out is how to customize the content in the Hover Over of the portfolio item in the grid. I also added a Portfolio Carousel at the bottom of one of my Portfolio items. The carousel displays fine but again I can’t see how to control the content in the hover over.

My Permalink question:
When I create a new portfolio item, the permalink default is http://www.myurl.com/portfolio_item/titleofmyportfolio
Am I ok to modify the permalink by deleting “/portfolio_item/”?

The content of the “hover over”?
You mean the style of the hover animation or the actual content in it (like the portfolio item title and categories)? Let me see your URL please.

The portfolio_item slug is changeable but not removable. WordPress requires that custom post types DO HAVE a slug that points to those items. You can change it in your fortuna_portfolio_cpt.php plugin (the one that handles the Portfolio custom post type).
