Wordpress deactivated and deleted the revolution slider from our account. When I try to upload it again I get the following error:

Installing Plugin from uploaded file: revslider.zip
Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
Could not create directory. /home2/bluemoo8/public_html/wp-content/plugins/revslider/settings
Plugin install failed.

Any ideas on how to get it back? Our 2 sites heavily relies on it in multiple places.

Thanks!

I am scrambling right now to make our pages presentable so they might not look all that weird if you visit them. However you will notice that the home pages no longer have the slider as the top images. Please let me know ASAP if you know how to fix this issue. Thanks!

Hi Kal,

Thank you for sending that file over. I did get it. I am still getting the same error message as before when I try to upload the zipped file into the WordPress plugins. This happens for both sites. Any idea why that’s happening or what it means that it “could not create directory”? That’s one I haven’t seen before. Is it because it already existed at one time?

I tried logging into my server and deleting the previous Res Slider folder from the wp-content plugins to see if that helped it install… it didn’t change a thing. When I try to reinstall it puts the folder back into the plugins folder without any contents. Darn.

I was… however I broke down and called our hosting provider to see if they had any ideas and they had it fixed in 5 minutes! Thank you so much for your help and sending me the latest version. If any other clients run into this issue, you can let them know what I experienced. Our hosting provider had changed the permissions on the revslider file purposely to 000 so no one could do anything with it to protect our sites. A simple change on their end and the new slider installed like a dream. And they said that they are very happy that person who designed Rev Slider chose a database to house all the created files since now all my slides are back. THANK YOU for using a well written plugin in your theme!
