Savia bbPress Sidebar missing

After installing bbPress, the Savia theme does not show the bbpress sidebar in the widgets page.

This sidebar is used by the bbpress plugin by default but does not show due to dynamic sidebar registration apparently.

Is there a fix for this?

Hi there,

Which template does the bbpress use for its pages?
You could play around with the dynamic sidebar registration of the theme in your functions.php

Unfortunately I’m not that talented. bbPress does not use any specific template as it inherits its features from the parent template or you can customize it via custom css however bbpress does register a dynamic sidebar which apparently does not seem to be registering on this theme. I need to fix this before I can go live with my new site.

I understand.
And does it use the page.php template? You can experiment by adding some random text to the template then opening a forum page (make sure you use a Child theme)…

Once you know that all that is left is to make sure that the dynamic sidebar of the plugin is registered, just like the dynamic sidebars are loaded for the theme.
The theme loads its dynamic sidebars in functions.php file – search for the string “register_sidebar” and you can see how they get added…

I will see what I can find out by comparing the code to the default wordpress template which does show the bbpress sidebar.
