When I set up my services, the permalink is set with something like this:

http://www.styleavenuestudios.com/services_item/bridal-jewelry/

However, when I try to view this link, I just get a 404 error page. I can get to the services page I created by using this link:

http://www.styleavenuestudios.com/?services=bridal-jewelry

I was able to use this in my menu, but the services carousel doesn’t allow me to set the names of the links. I tried changing my permalink settings to default and then back to post name, but it didn’t help.

Any suggestions?

Surely seems like a permalinks sort of issue, did you try clearing your rewrite rules?
Place this in your functions.php:

<?php flush_rewrite_rules( $hard ); ?>

Refresh the front end, then don’t forget to remove it, and try again!

I have an identical issue.

I’ve tried placing
<?php flush_rewrite_rules( $hard ); ?>
into the functions.php, but this just caused a fatal error on the site….

Any clues? My site is http://www.asfb.com.au
