sidebar customizations

for my blog, I want some custom widgets in the sidebar that aren’t options on my widgets/sidebars page. I like the demo blog page that had Latest News with three posts, testimonials, links, and a button with a link, and then Categories listed last. How do I add these elements that aren’t options in widgets?

I just created a new page and put what I wanted on the sidebar and then copied the html. Is that the correct way to do it? If so, I figured out how to get the testimonials and accordion in the sidebar.

I also found the fortuna latest post widget for the sidebar which I love! But I don’t want the date displayed, is there a way to take the date off there?

Hi,

Yes, copying the HTML to a Text widget area works for custom elements like testimonials and accordions. The date for the “latest post widget” – add this to your CSS:

.sidebar .boc_latest_posts p.date {
display: none;
}
