Is it possible to change the sidebar so that its positioned below the main menu, rather than below the breadcrumbs/page title?

If you see http://hatcherycentral.com/about-us/ I’ve adjusted the width of the breadcrumbs/page title. But i’m not having much luck in shifting the sidebar up, ‘vertical-align: top’ doesn’t seem to do it. If i adjust the margin-top, it works on pages with breadcrumbs/page title, but then on pages with no breadcrumbs/page title (ie home page) then the sidebar comes to high.

This is my last major issue before i can launch the site!!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

You could give it a negative margin in your Theme Options -> Custom styles:

.sidebar {
margin-top: -122px;
}

Your top navigation you added is not centered… just letting you know, check your site on a bigger screen

Thats fine, but then if you have a page with no breadcrumbs, ie the homepage, then the sidebar bar comes placed up near the header social icons!

Is there a way to have a function, that states if there is breadcrumbs/page title then apply the CSS you mentioned above?

Either that or i guess i possibly need a different page template with a different class for the sidebar. But that is quite possibly a little beyond me!

Simply wrap your custom template in a div with a class then apply the style just for that div like so:

.my_custom_template .sidebar {
margin-top: -122px;
}
