I’ve set up the element as I should have:
On click action
Select action for click action.
OPEN CUSTOM LINK
(http://www.thecopperhorsecottages.co.uk/)

For some reason when you click on the images in the front end, the screen greys out as if there is an image is going to be viewed in prettyphoto or something like that

Can you offer any assistance?

Sure, this is a bug due to the latest addition to VC, please standby for the update coming up later today or early tomorrow, it will fix this problem so once you update you should no longer experience it. Thanks for your heads up! :)

It’s under a media query for low resolution in your Child theme, that’s why you don’t see your rule take effect.

It’s within this block:
@media only screen and (max-width: 768px) {

By the way checked your HTML, you reworked the way the parent CSS loads? Why? :)
You can keep the parent CSS file being imported within the Child theme one…

simply use the Child theme that comes with the theme, mate! It works OK for sure. :)
If you open its CSS file later you will see that it simply includes the main theme CSS file.
