Hello,

I am using Savia, integritybook.com.
If I make the main top menu sticky, the anchors move the page to the top of the page. So the menu covers the part of the content.

Is there a way to fix. (since this is a live site I currently have the menu set to Normal, but I would prefer sticky if the positioning can be fixed.

Thank you,
Martina

Hi,

What do you mean, the sticky meny by default doesn’t cover any content, only once you scroll… and that’s the concept of it being sticky… what am I missing ?

Hi,

sorrybI will try to explain clearer. If you add anchors to the menu or anywhere for that matter within the same page, with sticky menu – menu DOES COVER the content.

Can you please let me know.
Thank you,
Martina

Hi again Martina,

Could you please provide me with access to the backend so I can switch to the Sticky Menu temporarily and see what’s going on as I still cannot understand the issue very well.

I am wondering about this, too. My website is http://http://192.185.35.98/~txsg. I have menu items pointing to page anchors and when you click on the menu item, it directs you to the anchor but the place where the content starts is behind the sticky menu.

For example, if you click on About Us/Code of Ethics from the main menu, you get directed to the right place on the About Us page, but the heading and first part of the paragraph is hidden behind the sticky menu. I would like the heading and paragraph to appear underneath the menu so you can see it all.

Sure, I can tweak the anchors and put them further up so the heading and paragraph will be seen, but then you will not be directed to the right place when looking at in on a mobile device.

Does that make sense?

Sure, makes perfect sense but since the sticky menu has a fixed position on top of the content, there’s no real “right” solution to this… One way is just like you said, create an invisible anchor that is ~100px on top of the actual one and take the user there, another way would be to use JS to do some math and scroll further down when an anchor hash tag is detected… check here:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6677035/jquery-scroll-to-element

That might be an overkill though. Good luck!
