I’m trying to change the Post template in a portfolio Item, but there´s no drop down list instead there is a message : “This theme has no available custom post templates”

The plugin is correctly installed.

I already uninstalled and installed again.

Are you using a Child theme? I can see you tried to apply the mod for Child themes…
Where did you add that Mod? To the plugin file?
Did you get the solution from a post in the forum here?

I am having the same problem. Can you send some instructions for fixing?

A small fix need to be added to the Custom Post Template plugin in order for Child themes to recognize the custom post templates of its parent theme.

Add lines below to custom-post-templates.php:176 (version 1.5) – it is in your plugins dir.

$post_templates = array();

$files = (array) $theme->get_files( 'php', 1 );

// MOD START
if ( $theme->parent() )
    $files += (array) $theme->parent()->get_files( 'php', 1 );
// MOD END

Just as it says above, below this line:

$files = (array) $theme->get_files( 'php', 1 );

add this:

// MOD START
if ( $theme->parent() )
    $files += (array) $theme->parent()->get_files( 'php', 1 );
// MOD END
