We tried your proposed fix but it gives us a blank page.
Steps we did:
1. disabled the old version 4.1.2
2. deleted the old one
3. uploaded and activated the new one from the upper post
4. blank page! also on dashboard.

What I tried additionally is disabled other plugins like W3 Total Cache. But it didn’t resolve our problem.
It is urgent for us too.

We’ll be issuing an official update soon, the thing is you’ll be doing the same, uninstall the old version of VC, then install the new one! Or overwrite the files via FTP.
If you are getting a white screen when updating you can enable your DEBUG mode in wp-config.php to see the error you are getting, then simply handle that error. IT could be a conflict with another plugin or something.

Any update on when the new VC update will come out? I’m having the same problem and the other users above.

I have deactivated and deleted my old version of VC and installed the VC plugin from the above link, plus updated to the new version of WP but still get a white screen with the chef hat logo whenever I try to use VC.
