Since updating to wordpress 4.4 the slider images now display blurry. Is there a functions fix to add for this? My images are 2550px wide so they shouldn’t look blurry and didn’t prior to the update.

The top image is a slider and the one below is the same image as a full size stretch.

Indeed, this is due to the new way WP loads images, even though the goal is optimization sometimes it doesn’t seem to do the job as good, just as in this case where Visual Composer stretches rows to full width dynamically.
At any rate we are going to have this cured in some way in a future update. Till then you can disable the new WP filters, check this out:
