The shortcode boc_heading has string inside it – a title – but when we go to translate the page it does not appear in the WPML Advanced Translation Editor.

Is there a fix for this?

Are you not translating the whole page, just separate strings? You should ask WPML support how to do that with custom shortcodes, if there’s anything to be done on our side I am more than happy to help!

We are using the Advanced Translation editor and it pulls out the strings on the page. THis makes it easier for our translators to not get confused / need training on how to edit the page, but focus on what they are good at – making the translation!

I’ve had a look at https://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files#page-builder-content and tried to buold some XML to help it translate but it wont appear.

The text is “Measurable results. Attributable sales. 22:1 ROI.”

It’s in the Fortuna Heading widget

The shortcode looks like this

I created an XML config for it, in WPML > Settings> Custom XML Configuration

    <shortcodes>
        <shortcode>
            <tag>boc_heading</tag>
        </shortcode>
    </shortcodes>
</wpml-config>

deactivated WPML & the theme and reactivated but it does not show in the String Translator.

From what I can see the next step is to create the XML config from the PHP files of the theme but that looks to be something the theme author needs to do.

It seems to me that you would put this into the theme code to save others the same hassle!
