for some reason the theme will not “save” when I try to change the main theme color from default to #174477. Appearance> Customize> Main Theme Style.
also, are there settings to specify font colors and sizes or do i have to write custom css for this?

1. Indeed, very strange, confirmed, I’ve had other clients have similar problems due to some plugins. I saw you don’t have anything out of the ordinary though… have you modified any of the theme code btw?

2. Those are set in your Theme options! Typography section. Then each element (like custom Heading or text) allows you to further modify those if you wish.

3. You need to use a general full width page if you want a full width slider on one, then below it add a Row that you will split into columns and in one of the columns add a Widgetized Sidebar element that will act as your sidebar. You can then add elements to it.
