can you please let me know how can i do the following?

1. I need to make sure that there are no connection to google or other major websites that are blocked in China because that will cause the website to slow down or block.
i noticed now that in my browser (firefox) there is a connecting…. that stay there for some time and i am wondering if there some connection that is blocked
I checked googleapi link for fonts and seems to work fine, so something like this

is ok. but other google services might be blocked (like google map)

2. I need to add social icons, like wechat and weibo. can you tell me how to do it?

3. As google map is not working as well and i know there is a baidu map plugin that create the map do you think is possible to make it work like the google one you have now? or if not how can i put it in the contact page?

1. Sure, then don’t use the contact template (it implements google maps) or the custom Map element. The rest of the google services used are google fonts which you said were ok.

2. You could override your header.php in your child theme and hardcode the links to those there (as I think their icons are not found in the theme icon sets). Obviously you would need to add the CSS/images etc. but you can follow the pattern that generates the hTML:

3. If you have a shortcode generator for your custom map you can simply use the regular Text edotor to paste it on your page or the Raw HTML element to paste the actual HTML that generates your map.

4. That’s sounds reasonable yes, if your chinese font is not found it will revert down to the other fonts listed.

but the chinese charachters are not visible, it depends on the file encoding? where can i change that?

a child theme already comes with the package. you override in it any files from the parent one.

The social icons – you can add them to the child theme images/ folder for example, then create your custom CSS rules for the new icon classes again in your child theme’s css file.

created functions.php file and put that in the folder。 i also put the style.css and tried to change something and seems to work. i could not change the contact-form font though. do you know how can i do that?

i am trying to change the form headers style of the contact form, in the child theme css i put

if this is correct it might be that i cannot see it with my pc, i read online that yahei is supposed to be a chinese safe font.

if not can i embed this font with @font-face?

I can’t seem to load this page… it’s just loading for a few minutes, then redirected me, then loaded some more…
But yes, if it’s a font that people have installed and you list it like this is will be loaded if it exists locally, if not the next font in line will load etc.
You could embed it if you have a web version of it, sure.
