I need to adjust filters on the side rather having them on top is it possible?

I would like to show images first and filter can be in sidebar or something or if i can add a search bar that would be great

You would have to customize your portfolio grid element.
You could place the filter in an element that is 1/4 column, then the images in a 3/4 column.
