Getting a fatal error when updating VC

I’ve updated the theme. Some modifications had been done to functions.php file of the parent theme in order to change the portfolio slug. Now I am trying to update VC plugin but I am now getting a fatal error. Could you recommend what can be done to fix this?

I was able to uninstall VC plugin when swithched to parent theme but the issue with an error in child theme remains.

As for your error, did you try commenting this line out?


vc_set_default_editor_post_types(array(‘page’,	‘portfolio’, ‘catalog’));

Yes, I have. I’d mentioned it in this post earlier. I commented it out in the parent theme functions php file. I thought I would eliminate the issue, but it did not.

First off – the links – you have them as class “broken_link”, that’s what causes them to be underlined.

Those are not errors, but warnings. You should have warnings switched off on your production server at all times.

As for the error – did you try removing the call to vc_set_default_editor_post_types in your child theme and assign the VC editor to the CPT from its options:
