I am assuming it’s a custom layer with absolute position placed on top of the Gmap.

My idea was to have the Gmap at the background and have a DIV positioned on the area where i can display the details.. but have a Google Map as an background is that possible ?

I would imagine you placing a map element. Then the following Row would have a custom ID/class and you would style it with absolute positioning and negative “top” value and high z-index value so that it goes as a layer on top of the map ;)
