I have had to manually apply a top margin to this page for some reason, to replicate the transparent header look on the home page. Is there a way to achieve this without having to apply a margin? I’ve tried various settings and this is the only way it seems to work?

Well the idea of a transparent header is exactly that – being able to place content below it.
If you want nothing below it but an image then some padding of that first layer can be added to compensate for it. :)

Is there a way to remove this top white banner globally? The menu is transparent, but there continues to be a white bar above that I cannot get rid of.

Could it be the default top margin that you can switch off under Page Settings?
