How to update VC plugin? I have 4.10 version I want to install. However, when I disable the installed previous version of VC plugin, the website goes blank (500 error, I suppose). Is there any specific way to update that particular plugin?

We will be issuing an official update of the theme with VC 4.10 soon.
You surely shouldn’t get a 500 error even if you try to update yourself…
You can look into your server error log to see what exactly causes the error.
