WordPress 5.5.1 Fortuna 3.00 Issues

Hello, we had several issues occur recently when we updated plugins and WordPress. You can see a test version we’re trying to fix here: https://millsins.com

The entire header area is supposed to have a Revolution Slider in it and it is not loading and further down the page the testimonials section disappeared as well as a background image…

This is an older theme, so not sure if finally past its prime or not. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. I may try to revert back to an old version of WordPress in order to see if this fixes the problem in the meantime.

Hi there,

The JS error you are getting (check your Dev tools console) is due to an incompatibility with older Jquery version in the new WP version 5.5. The issue has been resolved for awhile now with our latest 3.0 theme version, that being said, can you confirm you are using that one?
I can see you are using cache, make sure you flush the cache and try again if you are indeed using version 3.0 of the theme!

I have the same problem after i updated WordPress. After the update Visual Composser does not display any content in the backend even though it’s build with Visual Composser in an earlier version.

Everything is updated such as Theme, WordPress and Visual Composser and i’m using the plugin “Enable jQuery Migrate Helper” to fix any migration issues.

I’ve also tried to disable all other plugins and flush the cache but nothing helps.

There must be a conflict with the Theme and the newest version of Visual Composser and WordPress?

Hi lindebjerghm,

The only way I was able to address the issue was to roll back to an older version of WordPress. I had never had to do this manually before, but it was incredibly easy using FileZilla. There are many YouTube video walk throughs to help.

I was not successful with a version of 3.0+ or the original version of 1.7

Hey lindebjerghm,

Please provide URL + user/pass in a private reply and I will take a look at the issue.
You must have a JS error of some sort, Fortuna 3.0 doesn’t have the jquery compatibility issue characteristic of the latest WP version but lets see.
Tosten, I would like to take a look at yours too!

You are using a really old theme version, pls follow up on the thread and update to the latest 3.0.
Check yours (1.7) here:

Once you do please test disabling the JQuery migrate plugin as the theme doesn’t need it, unless something else on your setup does…

Thanks for the answer. I’ve updated to 3.0 but Visual Composer still doesn’t work..?

Visual Composer on your site – Version 4.12.1
Wow, didn’t even know that still worked at all, this is like 3-4 years old… they are at 6.4 now!

I would do a backup before you update!
