Configuring Contact Form 7 plugin/forms

Ok, I am very confused. I created my own Contact form within the Contact Form 7 plugin and no email ever reaches it’s final destination. So, I installed WP-SMTP-Mail and within that plugin I can send test emails to any destination with both SMPT and PHP.

It appears as though the Contact Form 7 form does not know how to send default mail either through WP-Mail or using WP-SMTP-Mail plugin even though it shows “Your message was sent successfully. Thanks.” when I click the Submit button in a completed contact form. I perused Contact Form 7 documentation for any clues but nothing stands out as a flagrant issue.
