Eliminating the extra space above the column shortcode

Hello BlueOwlers. I am using your fine Aqua theme as the basis for my company’s new website. A coder friend of mine has helped with various bits of customization, and I have a custom database integrated as well. My question – I would like to start the content on a page with a column shortcode. I.e. – the first content under the page title would be contained in [column width="1/2" position="first"]. However, doing this introduces an extra space above the column, making the space between the page title and the content to wide. My coder friend could not figure out an elegant way to eliminate this extra space. Any suggestions for how I could do this?
