Make featured image visible in recent post carousel ONLY

Hello,

I want my images to show up in the “recent posts” carousel on my homepage, but not in giant size above the actual blog post itself. Is there some code I can delete to accomplish this? In other words, I want the featured image to appear only in the carousel and not in the blog post. Or is there a way to put an image in the carousel without making it a featured image?
