Portfolio URL

Hallo,
I would like to change the URL in my portfolio, so that it is not called:

https://mywebsite.dk/portfolio_item/text/

But called:

https://mywebsite.dk/text/

Or is it possible to name it something else instead of portfolio_item? I have read some other tutorials on this, but they all entail change in the code for the theme. And I don’t feel safe going into that since I don’t know anything about coding.

And then I would like to hear if it is possible to change the layout in the portfolio. As right now the featured picture is showing itselves to be pretty huge on the page.
