iPad and sub-menu items

I realize that my support has expired for Fortuna Theme but I have an issue with iPad’s in landscape mode (uses default desktop presentation) vs Portrait mode. In Portrait mode, sub-menu items will drop down when tapping the main menu item down arrow. However, in landscape mode, tapping the main menu item just opens the primary menu page and I cannot get the sub-menu items to show. I did a search on google for this issue and most articles point back to the CSS for the theme. ANY help would be appreciated.

Customer is not a happy camper at this point and about ready to burn down the lodge.
