Separator/Seperator

I’m trying to use the triangle separator on most rows, but it only seems to work on some. Sometimes it appears at the bottom of the row, sometimes the top, sometimes I can’t see it at all. I’ve been over it and over it, but I can’t work out what’s different from one row to the next… Could it be disabling rows throws it out? I’ve noticed disabling rows also seems to confuse the background elements for each one.
