Struggling with Demo Data

I wrote before and then read about having to beef up both the Execution Time and Memory Limit. I called Hostgator and was told they could up the Mem Limit to 256 but none of their shared accounts allow for more than 30 Execution Time. He said I could do this with a Dedicated (which I can’t afford each month) account.

I had him up Mem Limit and then tried again but had no luck at all. Only a handful of Media files are uploaded. Is there another way around this to get the demo data live (which I definitely need) or does having a shared hosting account eliminate me from being able to use this theme (which I really hope isn’t the case)
